🏺The story behind the Spice: Drawn from the ancient purity of Mediterranean Sea salt, this blend is ignited by the Carolina Reaper red chile—a modern cultivar born of careful crossbreeding, now famed as one of the world’s hottest peppers. Its lineage carries the spirit of centuries of chile cultivation, from the indigenous traditions of the Americas to the spice routes that carried heat across oceans. Carolina Reaper held the title of the world's hottest pepper until 2023 when it was surpassed by its offspring Pepper X. Developed in South Carolina by Ed Currie in the early 21st century, its creation was a result of careful crossbreeding between a Pakistani Nago pepper and a Red Habanero. It is a celebration of both modern ingenuity of cultivating the world's hottest pepper and the enduring allure of Mediterranean flavors.
