🪶The story behind the Salt: Peruvian Pink Spring Salt comes from a natural spring located 10,000 feet high in the mountains of Peru. The rock salts are buried deep underground and begin to dissolve when hot, fresh water trickles through the ground and into the salt dome. The water, now warmed by the underground volcanic activity, seeps to the surface and into terraced salt ponds, bringing the salt and minerals with it. The water is then left to evaporate, resulting in a lovely pink mineral-rich salt. This salt has been hand harvested for over 2,000 years at these salt springs. The crystals have a high moisture content and a light pink color.
